Various "classic" machines that I think are cool. (By classic I mean, non-electronic contraptions, the likes of which people have been using for quite some time.)
These are the pulleys that drive the elevator in the building in which I live. The building was built sometime around 1904 (I believe), so the elevator is a true classic! (In fact, the elevator has no "push-buttons" and has to be operated by an experienced operator who pushes a lever right or left, depending on whether the elevator is going up or down. How cool is that?!?) I deliberately shot this photo in black-and-white to capture a "classic" look.)
