Photographs of the "FInal Mission" of the Space Shuttle Endeavour as it flew over various parts of Southern California (downtown Los Angeles, the Griffith Park Observatory, and Nasa's Jet Propulsion Laboratories) and rolled through the streets of Los Angeles to its final home, the California Science Center in Exposition Park, Los Angeles, California. Not only was this a "once in a lifetime" event, but a "once in history" event. It was really a very special treat to be able to witness this.
The Space Shuttle Endeavour's "Final Mission." Here she is flying over downtown Los Angeles, piggy-backed on it's Boeing 747 transporter. This flyover happened as part of its approach to Los Angeles International Airport (LAX), in preparation for it's last trip, through the streets of L.A., to Endeavour's final home at the California Science Center. Here you can see the shuttle in the distance, near the Los Angeles City Hall (the tall, skinny building with the "pyramid-shaped" top).
